Independence Day Buffet at RSM Lutong Bahay

Happy 119th Independence Day, Philippines! We took advantage of this holiday to be with the family and headed to Tagaytay for lunch. We left as early as 9:30am to avoid traffic.

En route to Tagaytay, we didn't have a specific restaurant in mind yet, but my mom mentioned that she wanted to have a Filipino buffet at RSM Lutong Bahay, and so that's where we went.

What better way to celebrate this holiday than to have a spread of our own dishes, right? It's the simplest, most delicious way to show our patriotism, so how can I complain?

RSM Lutong Bahay serves ala carte items. The buffet is only available on weekends and holidays, for the price of P650. Based on what we've experienced, the buffet spread wasn't that wide, and the choices weren't anything special (I have a few photos). There's also nothing spectacular about any of the dishes I've tried. From what I've seen from other tables who ordered the ala carte items, I think it would actually be best to order the ala carte (although I'm not so sure about the prices).

The food was okay, but the ambiance is something else. Although the buffet table is a lot farther from the garden area overlooking Taal lake, all the extra steps we took were just wiped out with how stunning the whole setting was. The fresh, cold air, the vibrant colors of the garden, everything was worth the travel.

If you're looking for a little breather from all the stress of Manila life, then take a trip to RSM and they got you covered.

My Scores:
Pricing - 4/5
Ambiance - 5/5
Service 4/5
Taste - 3.5/5
