Red Baron Ribs and Steaks

by - Friday, February 09, 2018

Quezon City is one of the largest cities (if not the largest) in Metro Manila in terms of population and land area. It is also an ultimate foodie destination given the wide range of restaurants and cuisines one can discover here.

As a foodie, I always make it a point to visit this city even if I came all the way from the South. When I do, I try to make the most out of it and choose restaurants that are budget-friendly so that I can turn my experience into a food crawl.

Red Baron Ribs and Steaks is a small start-up restaurant put together by a group of friends along D. Tuazon in Quezon City. It is a restaurant situated where a car wash business also stands, and where the servers are in what seems to be pit stop crew uniform (which I find so cool). The restaurant serves a good spread of American-inspired dishes, all at an affordable rate.

Nachoriffic P288
To start off our food crawl, we were served with Red Baron's nachoriffic. This may look simple and pale, but it's actually pretty good.

Carbonara P169

Pepperoni Pasta P235
A lot of us in the group disliked their pepperoni pasta, but not me. I admire it when restaurants try to create something new out of a normal dish. What came to mind when I had a bite of this dish was how the pasta tasted like pizza, so I was able to appreciate it even if I'm not into pepperonis.

Original Meltique 398
Full Ribs (with rice and 3 sides) P698
The full ribs may not have the fall-off-the-bone level of tenderness, but it was flavorful, that I could say. The sides also shouldn't be ignored or belittled. You can have the creamy mashed potato, the corn and carrots, or the twister fries. My personal choices are their mashed potatoes and twister fries.

Porter House P1,959
The porter house is one of my favorites from Red Baron because of how incredibly tender and juicy each slice is. It's served in a huge plate, and can be shared by around 4-6 people.

Premier Himalayan Stone Grill P2,865
Perhaps the most incredible part of our trip to Red Baron is the premier Himalayan stone grill experience. An order of this includes a truffle cheese soup and a caesar salad for starters, sides, and a USDA (prime grade) rib-eye steak.

You may opt to have your steak grilled for you (on your table) or you can choose to grill it on your own. Either way, the procedure for cooking is the same: the steak is rubbed on the block of Himalayan salt, then seasoned with pepper, red wine, and teriyaki sauce. Honestly, everything in this set meal was amazing. The rib-eye (of course), the soup, and yes, even the SALAD!

Red Baron also has a wide variety of playful drinks to make your visit even more memorable.

Lick Iced Tea
They also have all flavors of Lick Iced Tea available.

If you ever find yourself in Banawe, make sure you drop by Red Baron and have a taste of their delicious, mouth-watering ribs and steaks!
