Valentine's Day Celebration at Mulberry Door

For our valentine's day celebration, my boyfriend was supposed to bring me to a buffet restaurant. But because of the season of love, the restaurant was fully booked, and we had to have our lunch some place else. He asked me to choose my perfect place, and I finally decided on trying out Mulberry Door.




Mulberry Door is a restaurant near Burgos Circle in BGC. With its romantic ambiance and mellow vibe, it seemed like the perfect place to celebrate this romantic occasion. It didn't become such a hard decision for me to make it our spot for our valentine's celebration this 2018. 
Taro Chips with Garlic Mayo Dip
While waiting for our orders, we were served some taro chips with garlic mayo dip. I have to admit, this got us hooked. My boyfriend enjoyed eating the chips alone, while I loved having it with the dip. 

Chicken Galantine P350
The chicken galantine is a dish with chicken meat and meatloaf (I'm guessing?) served with mashed potatoes and gravy. This was the dish that I enjoyed most during our visit, primarily because I liked the taste of the meatloaf paired with the gravy. 

Paella Negra P640
The paella negra was served hot in a skillet pan, with lemon aioli on the side. I wasn't too impressed with the taste of the paella negra, although it also wasn't bad. I think I would have enjoyed it more with more lemon aioli, which we failed to request for. 

Grilled Salmon in Almond Cream Sauce with Mashed Potatoes P550
The grilled salmon was cooked well, since the fish wasn't dry (thank goodness!) The almond cream sauce was a good innovative move to go with the salmon, although I didn't find it as the best  or fit combination. 

I can't really elaborate the taste of each of the dish, probably because I didn't find anything worth mentioning about any of them. To be honest, everything that we had tasted good, but we weren't able to get what we paid for. The pricing is a little too much compared to the taste and size of what was served.
