Cherry Blossoms and Tea at Maginhawa's Sakura Hanami

by - Tuesday, July 23, 2019

Japan is just 4 hours away by plane, but how would you chase your dream Cherry Blossom experience with very limited budget? The answer lies along Maginhawa street in Quezon City.

Sakura Hanami is one of the newest and most beautiful tea places that just opened in Metro Manila. The name translates to "experience the Cherry Blossom season", which this place puts to heart from its vibrant pink interiors, all the way to the imported, quality ingredients to make your tea drinking experience worthwhile.

It's not your typical milk tea place, as they offer items that are far different from the tea that we are used to.  Not only that, but both their drinks and interiors are extremely instagram-worthy! That's probably enough reason for you to visit them, but before you do, let me give you a sneak peek of what you can expect from Sakura Hanami.

White Sakura Milk Tea P160 (L) P180 (XL)
This is a milk tea with pink pudding that tastes a lot like your childhood favorite gelatin. So if you want a trip down memory lane, or if you're ordering for a kid, then you can't go wrong with the white sakura milk tea. I took one home to my godchild and he just can't get enough!

Lava Pearl Latte P160 (L) P180 (XL)
The lava pearl latte was the last item we ordered (and also the only XL size we ordered), as it was highly recommended by their staff (hello, ate Cricel!) She wasn't wrong! It was really really good! It was rich and milky, which my sister loved so much that she ordered an extra one to go!

Peach Yakult P120
Whenever I don't feel like drinking heavy milk tea, I always go for refreshing juices, and I almost always end up having one with yakult, and I must say I really liked their peach yakult drink. It's now on my go-to fruit juice list. I hope they'll offer it in a bigger size soon.

Traditional Cherry Blossom Tea P180 (XL)
The traditional cherry blossom tea is another thing that's different about Sakura Hanami. It's hot tea infused with edible flowers, so expect it to taste flowery and a lot different from your regular tea. It's served with honey so you can adjust its sweetness level to your suit your preference. It's perfect for those who want to have afternoon tea with their girlfriends, tita style :)

Strawberry Rose Bubble Mousse P160
They also offer desserts other than drinks, which they call the bubble mousse. It's like your flavored mousse cake topped with boba pearls. It's quite interesting, if you'll ask me, and the combination works, so this is something you should definitely give a try.

There are other promising items Sakura Hanami offers that I'd love to come back for, like their red velvet cheesecake milk tea and sakura dream tea. I'll update this post as soon as I try them (which will be very soon)!

I can't wait for them to open a branch in the South!
