The Breakfast Hub to Have Affordable Almusal All-Day Everyday

by - Saturday, March 17, 2018

Breakfast is the meal I almost always skip, either because I woke up late or I just don't feel like eating in the morning. This is also probably the biggest reason why I always find myself craving for breakfast food. And just recently, I had a really bad craving for a bunch of breakfast food that I had to look for a place where I can get all of them and at the same time not drain my wallet.

My boyfriend suggested to take me to a nice breakfast place up North, but there I could only order a plate with my budget (yes, one order won't do), so I decided that it's time pull up a place that has long been in my bookmarks, a place I have been hearing about in the past years: Kanto Freestyle Breakfast.

Kanto Freestly Breakfast has a lot of branches, but I chose this one in Marikina simply because it's in a location that is familiar to me, and because I saw that it has parking spaces. It isn't fancy, but it most certainly isn't uncomfortable.

New Zealand Beef Tapa P125
I had lots of cravings that day, but the main one that started it all was the beef tapa. I just had to have beef tapa that day, so I ordered KBF's New Zealand beef tapa. It looked so appealing, unfortunately it didn't have the taste I was expecting, or hoping for. Suffice to say it was such a bargain considering the price, but it lacked a little more flavor. Sometimes the vinegar helps, but I didn't appreciate theirs.

Crispy Corned Beef P110
The crispy corned beef was my boyfriend's order. I was actually happy that he decided to have this, because I also wanted to try it LOL. And it's great that he did order it, because I really liked it. The taste of the corned beef is still there despite  having the crunchy breading around it. It was also served with some cheese sauce that went well with the texture of the breading, and didn't taste weird at all.

Daing na Bangus P95
KBF really is for the hungry, since they order ala carte items (without rice and egg), like the daing na bangus that I ordered. I didn't expect it to be this huge, by the way! You can tell that the dish was marinated long enough because the taste of the vinegar is really brought out in every bite.

Pampanga Tocino P80
Even my boyfriend didn't escape the temptation of ordering more as he also got a plate of the Pampanga tocino. Again, I was also thinking of ordering it, and hooray for me because my partner did. There's nothing different to expect from the Tocino. It's the Pampanga tocino you buy from your supermarkets, cooked and served on your table.

Scramble P50
Nope, my takaw-tingin moment isn't over, not yet. I also ordered a scramble to drink while we waited for our orders on a hot Sunday noon. It's a drink for the kids and the kids at heart who just want to reminisce about their awesome childhood. Well, I was able to finish this glass long before our orders arrived.

Although most of dishes I've tried at Kanto Freestlye Breakfast didn't entirely taste like how I wanted them to be, I would still recommend this place because they offer them at an affordable price.

My Scores:
