Beauty That Moves: The Nest's 4th Anniversary Celebration

by - Monday, August 21, 2017

The Nest Dining in the Sky at Vivere Hotel has recently celebrated their 4th year anniversary, and they celebrated this event like they always do - by celebrating the Filipino arts and craftsmanship, and it was indeed inspiring.

They partnered with Niccolo Cosme, one of the most-sought after photographer in the country, and his latest work "Beauty That Moves", a series of still images that are made to move when viewed using the "Artivive" app. It was really fascinating. The images were already beautiful on its own, but seeing it "animate" out of its still form emanates a calming vibe like no other, especially since all the images project the elements of nature.

What's even more heart-warming is the thought that this collaboration was inspired by the ongoing conflict in Mindanao, and that the proceeds of the miniature artwork cards will go to the Teach Peace Build Peace Movement. The organization is dedicated to help every Filipino child and youth be a peace builder.

As Niccolo Cosme said that night, we may feel like this conflict in Marawi is not in our hands because it's far from our reach, because we may seem unaffected, but in truth we are all responsible for the situation. For even the simplest actions we can help change our lives (especially their lives) for the better, and being a small part of that cause just makes this life full of meaning. Truly, the work of this photographer was able to move my heart and soul. It was a night I will forever cherish.

Right after the short program, we all helped ourselves to the food Vivere Hotel had prepared for us. Everything tasted delicious, and my personal favorite were the perfectly tender and flavorful porchetta, and the truffles (especially the one with coconut shavings). Yum!

Chipirones Aglio Olio
Pinxtos

I'm excited to be back to The Nest not only because of its amazing ambiance, but because of the delicious food, and the wonderful memories I have with this restaurant.
