Saturday Brunch Buffet at Yakumi by Solaire

by - Friday, December 08, 2017

Solaire is no stranger to the meaning of enjoyment. The hotel boasts nothing but the best experience from entertainment, leisure, and even down to dining. The last one I can attest to based on my previous visit to their very own Waterside Restobar, and now another one of their finest: Yakumi.

Yakumi is a restaurant that offers a truly authentic Japanese experience with the sumptuous spread of food and drinks they serve at their Saturday brunch buffet.

This Japanese restaurant takes you to a trip to Japan with chefs Norimasa Kosaka and Shinobu Endo's modern and traditional ways of cooking, skilfully executed with ingredients straight from the Tsukiji Market in Tokyo. Not only that, but you also get to enjoy these in a vibrant, minimal but classy setting.

If you're wondering on where to begin, you can start with the 10 types of sushi and sashimi they have at their sushi bar. I enjoyed their salmon sashimi without any sauce, or having to use wasabi either.

Go on a roll with the variety of rolls and hand rolls they have available.

They also have a salad and cold dishes area where you can grab some soba and potato salad, among others.

Agedashi Tofu
Cheese Katsu
Braised Berkshire Pork Belly

The hot dishes offered in Yakumi include agedashi tofu, crispy fried chicken, braised berkshire pork belly, and cheese tonkatsu.

Juices
Japanese Sake

Unlimited Drinks
White Wine
If you're feeling thirsty from all the food you've seen so far, fret not, because this brunch buffet also includes an unlimited serving of wine, juice, and even sake.

Beef Rib Eye
The station I consider as Yakumi's crown jewel is the teppanyaki station where I went overboard for their beef rib eye steak. If you're more into seafood, they have tiger prawns and blue marlin fillet they'd gladly cook for you.

Tempura
A Japanese cuisine isn't complete without the ramen (soya, miso, tonkatsu) and tempura (prawns, white fish, sweet potato, eggplant, carrot). You can order these from your kind and helpful servers.

Chawan Mushi
The chawan mushi is also available for ordering, which I highly recommend.

Desserts
Save some room for desserts, and I mean lots of room, because these are the types of desserts you can't say no to. You can choose to have pastries or chocolates, fresh fruits, ice cream scoops, or have a crepe made, or if you're really reading, you can just have enough space to try everything!

Avocado, Salted Caramel, Sesame Ice Cream
I tried their avocado, salted caramel, and sesame ice cream flavors. The sesame was the most notable since I really liked the unique taste of toasted sesame seeds. I also tried every other dessert you can see in the photo, and everything was beyond satisfactory.

I had such a thrilling and heart pounding gastronomic experience at Yakumi's Saturday brunch. I'm hoping to be back with my sashimi-loving boyfriend soon, since I'm definite that he'll enjoy the spread of food here as much as I did.
