The Farm Organics at Powerplant Mall

by - Friday, July 27, 2018

I was having a hard time thinking about what I wanted to have for lunch with my boyfriend on our Sundate. He then decided to bring me to Powerplant Mall to check out a newly opened hole in the wall I told him I wanted to try. However, the place was full and there were lines at almost every stall. We looked for another place to have lunch, but the restaurants at the mall were all packed like crazy! We continued walking until we found ourselves in front of The Farm Organics, a restaurant I’ve been meaning to try because of its healthy food offerings and accessibility.

The Farmer's Burger P300 (local, all-natural)
+90 for fries

I was really craving for a burger, so I went for the safest one to order from The Farm, which was their Farmer’s burger. It’s a burger with 200g beef patty, egg, nitrite-free & crispy bacon, tomatoes, onions, pickles, cheese, and lettuce. It looked so perfect when it was served, but I knew something was different after my first slice. The patty was tough, dry, and it tasted a bit bitter. I took a closer look at it, and it was burnt. Of course I had it replaced, and the replacement burger had juicier patty. It was not the best burger out there, and it’s not even comparable to my favorite burger, but it wasn’t so bad.

Mushroom Truffle Pasta P310
My boyfriend had the single order of the mushroom truffle pasta. It’s good that he chose this since I was also thinking about having pasta that day. The serving size was a bit of a let down, and it’s not even that delectable or special for the price.

Energy Green Smoothie P170
I forgot the complete list of ingredients in this smoothie, but I remember that it has raw cacao nibs, blueberries, banana, and spinach. I’ve been really looking for a smoothie with spinach (because I loved my spinach drink in Siargao), which was why I ordered this. It’s pretty good, although the banana was the flavor that was really highlighted.

The entire experience wasn’t really what I was expecting after repeatedly pushing back my plans to try this place. That burnt burger patty sure affected my mood throughout lunch, even if they replaced it with a new one.
