The Garage: VR Gaming Zone and Food Park in One Location

by - Friday, November 09, 2018

There have been debates on whether food parks are here to stay. With the growing business of the food industry, more and more people are trying to get their way in, and thus, the rapid increase in the number of food parks. Question is, with all of them popping out across all cities, how can one really rise above the other?

And here is one fun and unique solution from the guys at City of Dreams - food park and gaming in one space.

The Garage is a huge 2,714 square meter, airconditioned space located at the upper ground floor of City of Dreams. It's the first in its kind in the country, housing 10 food and beverage trucks, and 3 games in one area.

And no, it's not just any kind of gaming. The Garage is where you can enjoy a virtual reality entertainment facility developed by Bandai Namco Amusement, a leading Japanese video game development company. The VR zone was created with cutting-edge technology to give an extremely immersive experience perfect for people of all ages to enjoy.

Mario Kart Arcade GP VR
This 3-minute game lets you race against your competitors as your chosen character (Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, or Yoshi).

Hospital Escape Terror
This 4-player simulation game starts with the story of you finding yourself in a wheelchair, having no idea what had happened. The goal is to navigate through the dark and abandoned hospital with your teammates and eventually escape within 9 minutes. So, do you think you have the guts to play this game? 'Cause I don't!

Ski Rodeo
This game is situated in a steep downhill, which can be played in pairs. The players should survive and be able to make their way through all the snow and obstacles in a span of 2 minutes.

The Garage has a number of food selections available with a variety of cuisines to choose from.

1. Chocol8

Not only will you find hand made chocolates in different shapes and sizes at Chocol8, but also ones mixed with all sorts of ingredients such as fruits and nuts.

2. The Roaster

For that caffeine fix, The Roaster serves premium coffee creations from quality coffee beans sourced from several different communities  in the Philippines. This is in line with the resort's sustainability campaign in partnership with the Philippine Board Council Inc.

3. Juiced

Are you tired but refuse to cheat on your diet? The healthy drinks from Juiced may just be your refreshing treat after a long day.

4. Katsu Sora

If you're craving for some Japanese katsu, The Garage has got you covered with Katsu Sora.

5. Hokkaido Ramen Santouka

I don't know about you, but any place just wouldn't be complete without ramen, and thus, Hokkaido Ramen Santouka is here! Indulge in your favorite tonkotsu-based ramen right after trying out all the VR games at The Garage!

6. Pink's Hotdog

Looking for a quick bite? You can grab a hotdog from Los Angeles' most famous hotdog stand - Pink's Hotdogs! Try their best-selling  hotdog "The Hollywood Legend" or something different like their Japanese take on hotdog.

7. Little Flour

The widely loved restaurant Wildflour's little sister, Little Flour, will also be serving their rice bowls.

8. El Chupacabra

Your favorite Mexican cuisine from the streets of Poblacion has landed a spot at The Garage! Now you won't have to go to their Makati branch just to get a fix of their burritos and tacos!

9. Pizza Grigliata

One name that I haven't heard before is this truck called Pizza Gragliata, and it's a must-try! I certainly loved their prosciutto arugula pizza, and spinach and pesto in squash dough pizza.

10. Farmacy

For those who aren't up for some chocolates for desserts, Farmacy's ice cream can definitely get you through that need for sugar!

Well, that was a looot! Which just means that you won't run out of things to try and crave for at The Garage!
