Classic Favorites at Paradise Dynasty

by - Thursday, February 06, 2020

I haven't been writing since I sort of decided to take a short break from having food comas back in December 2019. It's been awhile, and I'm not going to lie, I loved every minute of my time off. And this 2020, without the blink of an eye, I decided to once again work on my blog with one of my favorite restaurants.

Yes, I've been to Paradise Dynasty numerous times. I don't know how it's possible mut my visits to this restaurant just keep getting better and better every time! And I'm glad to have it as my first blog post for the year 2020!

Special Dynasty Xiao Long Bao P388

We started the night off with a basket of Paradise Dynasty's signature xiao long bao. For those who don't know, there is a proper order on how to devour these colorful buns for you to appreciate the progression of flavors. My favorite out of all is still the garlic xiao long bao.

Lettuce Roll with Homemade Sesame Sauce P288

I've been meaning to try the lettuce roll with homemade sauce for quite some time now, and I'm not sure why it took so long for me to actually do so, but each of those times I did not push through with it proved to be a huge mistake! I love this dish! It may seem bland, but honestly the lettuce roll did not taste too leafy, especially with the sesame sauce.

Stir-Fried Beef with Scallion P388

I have never thought about ordering beef from this restaurant before. It's in one of the pages on the menu that you just flip through without even bothering to stop and take a second look, but we all got to ask ourselves WHY we kept ignoring this! It's good and really tender! The beef gets most of its flavor from cumin, but not in a strong, overpowering way.

Poached Sliced Fish in Szechuan Chili Oil P788

I've tried the beef variety of this dish before, and it's pretty much the same except for the meat. I really loved this despite it being insanely spicy. It's not the kind of flavor you get from just any other spicy food out there. A serving can be shared by at least 4 people. It's definitely a must-try, but make sure you order a glass of their cold barley to help you handle the heat.

Spicy Szechuan Crispy Chicken P298

Again, not the first time I tried the Szechuan crispy chicken. I love how the chicken is bite-sized like chicken poppers. And unlike the Szechuan soup, the spice level of this chicken is more tolerable.

DESSERTS

Steamed Glutinous Rice Stuffed in Red Dates P238

The dates are found under appetizers but it also works as a dessert. They're filled with glutinous rice and drizzled with a sticky, melted sugar to give it a hint of sweetness.

Charcoal Custard Lava Bun P188

Another appetizer that I like to have as dessert is the charcoal custard lava bun. It's like your usual mantou bun, except that it's oozing with custard and it's black.

Glutinous Rice Ball Topped with Grated Nuts P168

Something new to add to the list of desserts I've tried in this restaurant is their glutinous rice ball with grated nuts. It looks like a butchi but it's actually softer, sort of like a mochi ball except that its outer layer is thinner and that it is filled with sesame filling.

I enjoyed each and every dish we had on our visit. It's weird but it's as if Paradise Dynasty is so perfect that they can't do anything wrong. I love it. I'll definitely be back again and again and again.
