Hogs and Cattle's Unlimited Wagyu + Prawns

by - Friday, November 10, 2017

It's been a long time since me and my siblings got together for a meal outside our home. It just so happens that we were all free to have dinner last Wednesday night, so we reserved a table for four at Hogs and Cattle.

I've been to Hogs and Cattle before, but at their Century City Mall branch. Some might say that you'll have the same experience, since they're practically the same restaurant, but I beg to disagree. This visit proved to be better in all aspects, may it be the food, the ambiance, and the service.

I'm trying to cut down my meat intake, so I was really planning on trying out their salmon. But at the last minute, I suddenly wanted to have their unli wagyu. It's probably because I felt sad that everyone will get to feast on unlimited steak while I eat my salmon, and just because their unli prawn was available and I wanted to try that as well!

Mushroom Soup

Bread + Butter
Mushroom soup was great, and I don't know what's in their bread, but we really enjoyed them. My siblings and I don't normally enjoy bread!!!

I loved their steak. It was juicy and well-seasoned. They used just the right amount of butter in cooking my steak, as opposed to my first visit. The meat was also more tender, compared to my previous visit wherein some portions of my meat appeared rubbery. The prawns were okay. The flavor of the garlic and butter didn't really get absorbed by the shrimp, which I think would've been if they deveined their prawns to open it up a bit. I also sipped a little of my brother's bottomless iced tea (hehe), and it surprised me that they aren't using those 1-liter iced tea in sachets. They're using brewed tea! Now that bottomless iced tea's worth ordering.

Service was great. It was better than my previous visit. The servers were extra courteous, plus they were quick to respond to our needs (i.e. steak refills).

The ambiance at their Mall of Asia branch is also worth mentioning. It's less dull, more welcoming and altogether suggests class in the simplest way.

I really enjoyed my second time at Hogs and Cattle, and I think it's safe to say that I'll be a regular customer of this branch. (Well, because I craved for more steak the next night).
