Famry is the newest addition to the line up of restaurants at Hole in the Wall. This restaurant offers only 6 items on the menu including drinks, but not really dishes that are too generic.
When I first saw a post about Famry, I was curious about trying their bunplings. But when I went to browse their menu, my eyes grew big for their crispy duck rice. So, I ordered both!
Crispy Duck Rice P390 (+50 for soy egg) |
Pan-fried, chopped duck pieces on a rice bowl, served with pickles and crispy duck skin. This rice bowl reminded me of a Filipino breakfast dish, except that the duck meat had a different texture that made it more enjoyable. I loved this dish.
Bunplings P220 |
A combination of the famous Taiwanese xiao long bao and bao, each pan-fried bunpling (also called the shenjianbao) is filled with pork and soup. If you've been to Binondo and have tried their famous Shanghai fried siopao, then this might look familiar on the inside, although the bun is quite different. I wasn't satisfied with how the bunplings tasted. I'll still easily choose xiao long bao over it.
I'll definitely come back for another bite of their crispy duck rice, and perhaps a taste of their minced pork rice bowl. And the best part about this visit is that I made my boyfriend try this and now he's got a new favorite dish at Hole in the Wall.
