A PAW-some and Fun Day at Bark Central

by - Friday, October 18, 2019

My friends and I and the BARK-ada (our dogs) like planning small days out together as a group. Nothing spectacular or huge. We just like going out and bonding with our furry friends, like that one time we went to Bark Central in Eastwood.

Bark Central is a dog park located at the 4F of the Eastwood Mall in Eastwood City. They offer a range of services like grooming and dining (both human and pet food), a small shop where you can purchase some clothes for your pets, and the main attraction, which is a dog playground.

There's a cafe just outside of the play area where you can watch other dogs play while you eat or drink. Meaning, you don't have to bring a dog to be able to hang out here.

1 hour - P400
2 hours - P500
10 hour pass - P3,000

Paying the admission fees, however, will get you access to this playground where you and your pets can spend time playing, training, and meeting new friends.

We paid for an hour of access to the playground, which is actually long enough for you to enjoy and maximize. Once your play time is up, your name will be called over the microphone.

They also have a dining area inside the playground where the owners can sit and eat while they leave their dogs out to play. This area can also be reserved for dog parties.

Twice-Cooked Adobo Flakes P195

My friend had the adobo flakes, which is one of the cheapest meals in their menu. The serving was huge, although the flakes were a bit tough than my liking.

Buttermilk Chicken with Cilantro Rice P345

I had their buttermilk fried chicken for late lunch and it was so heavy! It was good. The skin was crispy, the meat was tender, and it all goes so well with their buttered herbed rice and gravy. The whole dish was just too oily, but if you're not that health conscious, then it's fine.

They also have a grooming station with a waiting area where you can watch your dogs be pampered.

Planning to go here? Here's what you need to know:
  1. Upon entrance to the mall, proceed to the concierge and secure a 1-day pass for your pets. You just need to fill out some forms and show them your dog's vaccination records
  2. When you get to Bark Central, you'll also sign a form before gaining access to the playground. They'll also ne needing your dog's vaccination records to check if your dog's anti-rabies vaccine is up to date.
  3. That's it! Of course, please be responsible for your dog and make sure you have everything you need for your day out (i.e. alcohol, wet wipes, some treats, paper/plastic for picking up after your dog).
  4. There are lots of staff to assist you inside the playground, especially when you need help cleaning up after your dog. They are prepared for that. There are also metal bowls for your dogs to eat and drink in, although it's still best to bring your own.
  5. Enjoy!
